I switched on to ET Now and was seeing the headlines as "Stock Markets crash as pivotals declare poor results". I feel someone who is just looking at the news will tend to panic by seeing such news. In my opinion an investor is better off swicthing off the media before taking investing decisions. It will ensure that they are not influenced by the headlines.
What happens is that we foucs too much on the short term market movements and give very less importance to the stocks we have. I think it should be the other way round..
